NSW State Titles

18th – 24th of February saw the NSW state titles take place at Mt Borah near Manilla. Over 45 pilots descended on the small town for a week’s competition.

The competition takes place on Mt Borah that is owned by local pilot, Godfrey Wenness. Astro turf launches and good landings all around makes this a great site for a competition. And not only that, Godfrey has an airstrip just north of take off with a swimming pool and bar for the perfect goal field! You can see details of Godfrey’s setup in the link below

After 5 Tasks, Ollie Chitty (UK) won the Competition flying his Moyes RX5 Pro, Scott Barrett 2nd place and Jonny Durand 3rd.

“Best of the Rest” saw Chris Czajowski in first place also flying a Moyes RX5 Pro with Dustan Hansen 2nd and Brod Osbourne in a close 3rd

Floater class was won by Don Gardner 1st , Blaino 2nd and Adam Cainero 3rd.

Scott Barrett took the State Title home being the 1st placed NSW pilot.

Bruce Wynn’s Gecko 170 testimonial

Bruce Wynn took the Demo Gecko 170 for a race around the Manilla skies after an unfortunate accident left his glide un-airworthy. Heres Bruce's first flight review!

“This glider is very nice to fly. It flies exactly like a hang glider should! Sits in thermals perfectly and lets you manipulate the bubbles however you want. It has a bit of speed for gliding (but not quite a topless). I was roughed up pretty badly in the "garbage tip" thermal at Manilla and it felt safe and secure. It's a Gecko 170. Nice work team Moyes."

WA Competition

Michael Cassells won the Western Australia Hang Gliding Championships this weekend after a dominant lead of over 700 points in 5 tasks. Michael was flying his first competition on a topless glider, a Moyes RX3 none the less!

Congratulations also to Gary Wright and Vic Hare for 2nd and 3rd places.
