Moyes have had an incredibly busy and successful year and can finally take a breath to report in to you all at long last.

Here's some highlights.

Bill and Molly’s excellent adventure

Bill and Molly have just returned from a whirlwind round the world tour.
First stop was with family and friends at Lake Como where Alfio Caronti organised an ol boys re-union that made the papers!

Then a side trip to the Dolomites to visit old time pilot and friend Karl Heinz.
An invitation from the FAI to attend the St Hillaire festival in France was an offer too good to refuse.

Then over to the East Coast of America to visit old friends Tommy Crump and The Williamsons.
Next stop was Wallaby Ranch where Malcolm Jones and Mikey Barber organised a Moyes Boys reunion.

Then on to LA where Kraig Coomber played host to a number of gigs : )

Palm Springs to visit more old friends and a big get together on a perfect flying day at Sylmar.

Thank you to everyone that made their stay so enjoyable and carefree, Molly said they felt like rock stars everywhere they went!

The Gecko is a modern “Sport Class” wing, designed for the upcoming and experienced recreational pilot. Originally designed to bridge the gap betweenthe Malibu and the Litesport Class, the glider exceeds everyone’s expectations, in handling just as much as in glide performance.

The Gecko utilises a 50/52mm leading edge construction with 62mm cross bars – all in 7075 T6 aluminium alloy tubing – like the Malibu. The result is great responsivity to weight-shift without compromising maximum pos/neg load requirements for certification.

The Gecko sports a sophisticated wing planform, with its carbon outboard dive strut retained inside the 70-90% double surface. The wing is finished off with a radial glass-tip design, allowing short packing dimensions for storage and transport.

The Gecko features a side-cable/luff-line compensation system like its bigger brother, the Litesport. This eliminates unpleasant wire slack while launching, and at the same time guarantees solid pitch stability without compromising glider performance throughout the range of its exceptionally efficient VG system.

With its advanced rigging system and high performance like “dingle-dangle” hang point, the cable geometry is such that the Gecko lays flat and packs up without any tricks – the kingpost folds forward with enough luff line slack to allow for a straight forward procedure.

The Gecko is currently available in a medium size of 14.4m^2 (155ft^2), with a span of 9.66m (31.7ft). The pilot weight range lies between 55-86 kg (120-190lb).  The gliders flying speeds range typically from a stall speed of 28kph (17 mph) to tops speeds of +90kph (+56 mph).

Moyes Boys and Girls from the UK have been on fire setting records all
on our RX3.5

Carl Wallbank and Moyes UK made a record start to the season with Carl Wallbank smashing the UK record on the 26th June, 2015

Carl flew a superb 330km from Merthyr Common in South Wales to Cromer on the east coast of England.
His flight took him 7.5 hours flying his Moyes RX3.5.

The flight was also a 255km declared goal flight – setting a new UK record for declared goal too. Carl flew over his goal and carried on to the coast.

Kathleen Rigg sets 3 World Records in 6 days!

On the 1st July Kathleen set two new women’s WORLD RECORDS in the Austrian Alps with an 8 hour flight of 200 km round a triangular course.

Then on the 6th July she set her 3rd World record with a 230km out and return flight in 7 hours.

DHV Hang gliding meeting 2015

Matthew Te Hira our production manager is in Germany and last weekend attended the DHV Hang gliding meeting together with our German dealer Wolfgang Genghammer of Skyline.
The meeting was a great success with manufacturers and pilots alike braving the not so cooperative weather.

We are excited to have Paris Williams on board and welcome him to the Moyes team.
Paris is very well respected amongst the community and we appreciate the value he will bring to our team.

Both colours are from a narrower width roll and only available in narrow width panels.

I would like to thank everyone for their support in helping us move to our new facility.

It’s been almost a year!

We are now well established in Kurnell, and very appreciative that all of our wonderful staff moved with us!
Special thanks to Rob De Groot our architect and builder and all the workers, hang gliding related or not!
Bill first started teaching hang gliding on Botany Bay behind the boat and later when foot launching on the Kurnell Sandhill’s , seems like we’ve done full circle and are back to our roots!
